Cadet Program Overview
Developing World Class Talent In Data & AI
Get real-world experience across data engineering, data science, data visualisation, platform engineering and product development.
Our unique cadet program provides top performing university students the opportunity to gain real world experience working on real client work and in developing features in our product team.
We provide annual cadetships commencing in January and concluding in December. We offer cadetships in our delivery team, where you will work across data engineering, data science and data visualisation on real client engagements. We also offer cadetships in our product team where you will work with our product team on developing the Insight Factory solution.
Our next Cadet intake will be in September 2025 with the program commencing in January 2026. We welcome any 2nd+ year students (including post grads) from any Adelaide based university

Insightfactory.ai’s Cadet Program proved to be a game-changer for me. During my third year of university studies, I participated in the program, which provided me with invaluable industry experience early in my career. I gained extensive hands-on experience working with real clients, strengthening my professional and communication skills. The program complemented the technical knowledge I was gaining at university, focusing on an area I’m passionate about. While my university studies provided a strong foundation in computer science concepts, the Cadet Program allowed me to apply those concepts to real-world projects. Insightfactory.ai fosters a culture of innovation, constantly pushing to bring new concepts and techniques to life. Beyond traditional data science techniques, I had the opportunity to contribute to streamlining the “Factory ML” suite of Machine Learning tools and Feature Engineering Operators, which are now used across various data science and machine learning projects at Insightfactory.ai. Additionally, the program offered various online courses on cutting-edge technologies like Databricks, PySpark, Microsoft Azure, Large Language Models (LLMs), Computer Vision, and MLflow, all while working with real-world data.

Who can apply for the cadet program?
students in their second year or beyond, including postgraduates, enrolled at adelaide-based universities, with a gpa of at least 6, are eligible to apply
What roles are available in the cadet program?
Cadets can join either the delivery team, focusing on data engineering, data science, and data visualisation, or the product team, working on software development and product strategy .
When do applications open and close?
Applications for the 2026 cadet program open in september 2025 and close on september 31, 2025
What are the benefits of joining the cadet program?

Does insightfactory.ai offer internships as well as cadetships?
insightfactory.ai currently offers cadetships only. this is a deliberate choice we believe a 12-month cadetship provides a deeper, more valuable experience. Cadets have the time to contribute meaningfully, whether in professional services delivering real client outcomes, or in product, shaping strategy, building features, and supporting releases. the longer-term structure also creates greater value for both the cadet and insightfactory.ai compared to shorter-term internships.
